Abstract

The investigation that is exposed has studied the main ideas and contained proposals in the 4 urban plans that have governed the urban development of the city of Los Angeles (Chile), the ones that are you considered as the most prominent facts as for urban planning developed in the city. The investigation has analyzed how has been imagined the city along this last century, inside a historic context, and as the political and cultural determining factors, that influenced the world and national planning, they form part of this evolution. The present work intends to be become the first effort and systematic investigation that analyzes and reflects on the historic evolution of the urban planning of the city of Los Angeles in the 20th century, the one that has turned out to be a faithful reflection of the evolution of the national urban development thought, being constituted in a contribute to the history of the Chilean town planning.
