Religious spaces, Utopias, Paradise... A study on a Religious Village in Entre Ríos (Argentina)

Abstract

The paper tries to think about of the urban Utopias around the idea of paradise’s construction. Taking a religious village of the province of Entre Ríos in the Republic Argentina as a case witness, there are analyzed how certain social agents construct the Utopia of the paradise, materializing it in real and concrete space constructed from to certain cultural, (specially religious) parameters. The study is focus in the analysis of Villa Libertador General San Martín, a city of the province of Entre Ríos that it relies on 6.000 inhabitants of which the immense majority they are Adventists. There, the Adventist Church of the Seventh Day, arrived at the end of the XIXth century, and began to open a process of space organization that answers to its values, beliefs and its practices.
