Abstract

Within the Spanish immigration, the population coming from Romania registered the greatest increase and the largest irregularity. In this article is shown the factors that contributed to the quick increase in that population relocate and two related questions. On the one hand, the spatial distribution, characterised by the Romanian immigrant concentration in few Spanish provinces and cities, and by the diffusion of the settlements to locations where until recently no immigrants were found, includes rural areas. On the other hand, the Romanian participation on the work market is shown, which is characterised by the competitiveness within different foreigners groups and where sustituition processes were found.
