Globalization and fragmentation of the agricultural space of Brazil

Abstract

The globalization of economy provoked a productive reorganization of the Brazilian farming, marked for territorialization by capital and for oligopolyzation of the agricultural space, culminating in the organization of a new economic technique and social model of production. This model is processed socially excluding and selective space form, accenting the historical social and territorial inequality of the country, besides creating many new inequalities, parallel to the diffusion of the agribusiness, a new territorial and social division of the farm work occurs. In this way, is extended the dialectic production of agricultural space, each more fragmented, characterizing productive territorial arrangements. This article has for objective to deal with the main characteristics of the achievement of the agribusiness in Brazil; of the fragmentation of agricultural space and the increment of urbanization in modern agricultural Brazil, resulting in a new typology of city: the agribusiness city.
