Documentary sources preserved in historical archives contain environmental information which allows to developpe reconstructions of the climatic dynamics in high temporal and spatial resolutions. In any cultural domains, like old Hispanic Kingdom, the uniformity of administrative system offer large possibilities of generating continuous and homogeneous data series. Potential level of comparative climatic analysis for Europe and America is evident. This paper shows the methodology developped and applied in the case of Cataluña (NE Spain), and first results of research which comprise the caracterization of the Little Ice Age (LIA) between 15th and 19th centuries.
