Transport and Public Work history as a cultural resource: the Transport and Territory Museum at the Valencian Community

Abstract

Transport and Public Work, Communication and Territory, are two basic intimately tied concepts, which provide a legacy to us Patrimonial of enormous wealth, of knowledge of our history Spent, present and future. To unify both concepts, to bring together his Historical values, it is the aim of the future Museum of the Transport and Of the Territory of the Valencian Community, and to transmit Knowledge of this plot of our history with the intention Pedagogic of revaluing this patrimonial legacy it is its mission. In This reading rests his(its) innovation, separating her from other offers Cultural, as the museums of the transport, museums of the railroad, Museums of the car or museums of the science and the technology. This cultural project has had a long process, of reflection, Investigation, selection and diffusion, that initiated in the year 2001 and that was consolidated with the creation of the “Cátedra Demetrio Ribes” in November, 2003, endowed by the Consellería of Infrastructures and Transport, in the bosom of the University of Valencia
