Abstract

On September the 27th 1854 the foundation stone of the Alameda was layed in the city of Orizaba. The park’s history that followed was determined by the fluctuations of the Mexican political life, by the acting of social agents and by the urban canons that ruled Mexico and the World. The lands of the public garden were intended to show civility, to give beauty and to guarantee order in the use of free time in Orizaba.
