Abstract

We are interested to demonstrate, in historical, methodological, and practical terms, the factual transcendence of Le Corbusier, Sert, and Wiener’s urban plan for Bogotá. Our interest in examining a particular Modern Movement urban planning instrument is based on our conviction that this tool should be recognized and understood as a specific and singular contribution to local and universal urbanism practice. To do so, different questions and hypotheses will be brought up around the three basic dimensions concerning of drafting an urban plan for Bogotá: the event, its process, and the products derived from such experience. In this paper we are presenting some events related with the elaboration of the Plan in order to better examine its historic connotation.
