Abstract

Through the iconographic repertory handed down by the painting from the first vanguards and the New Objectivity, applying one transversal point of view related to the Humanistic Geography and to the Perceptual Geography we study the different perceptions that the painters, like real feature writers, giving us the multiplies aspects that the modernity assumed in the framework of the big cities and European west. Three interactive plans of reflection: means of transportation and his noticeable progress, contemporary of the second industrial revolution; his consequences in the mobility and urban accessibility; and finally, their impact in the functional and social structure, and the city morphology.
