Abstract

The viticulture evolution from the first nineteenth modernization to the actual process (second modernization) had two central actors of the capitalistic system: the State and the managers. This article tries to stablish the characteristics and behaviors of the last ones in the viticulture evolutive process because they had been key actors. Just for this, the antecedents that refer to a limited provincial elite are studied. An oligarchy of families that will conduct this social group, control the politic power during several decades and guide the first great modernization arose. To conclude, a panorama of the actual enterprise and the answers to the second modernization is drawn.
