Abstract

Discuss the strategies of the Brazilian government that indicate a strengthening of its hold on the South Atlantic islands is the concern of this article. The hypothesis is that the inclusion of these places in the List of World Heritage is a project that involves strategic sectors of the country and refers to issues of national sovereignty countersigned by Multilateral Conventions, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and the Convention of Cultural and Natural Heritage.
