Once again the Social Question in Europe. An alternative view to the conservative thought and an agenda for research

Abstract

During the last three decades it has taken place an increase in inequalities whitin the OECD countries which has placed again the Social Question in the political agenda and has put it back in the spotlight of social science research. The current change of era has prompted a very deep impact on the European society. One of its most dramatic signs has been the deepening of the social divide. In this text the author analyzes the causes, suggests an alternative view to that provided by the neoliberal thinking and proposes a research agenda to know thoroughly the nature and scope of the present-day social changes.
