Abstract

The constitution of a new territory put at the disposal of entrepreneurs in the sector of irrigated agriculture business by the government of Bahia state is analyzed from the action of the Liberal Front Party (PFL) government between the years 1990 and 2006. This action resulted in the construction of dams, the implementation of road networks, electric power and water distribution, relocation of landowners and the restructuring in the forms of land appropriation. All these actions put new production structures in favor of big business, eliciting new strategies of neoliberal political parties to make public money available to big companies.
