From traditional to industrial viticulture. Changes in the viticultural landscape in the island of Mallorca

The crop of the vine -secular on the island of Mallorca- has experienced different phases in their evolution, some of them of expansion and other ones as withdrawal. This study analyses the wine industry evolution in Mallorca, centered on the reconstruction of the areas occupied by vine from the earlier 20th century to nowadays. The main aim is emphasizing the transformation of this activity from the second half of the twentieth century, analyzing the the transition from traditional to industrial viticulte. This caused several consequences in the sector, affecting its industrial and vineyard models; involving a clear transformation of the island vineyard landscapes
