Abstract

Since the beginning of the ninetieth decade of the last century the patterns of geographic mobility of Ukrainian immigrants to Central and Western Europe have been characterized by its temporariness, circularity and irregularity. Taking as a point of departure this premise, the geographical patterns of Ukrainian immigration to Spain are examined. The indicators of temporality of movement, geographic location, displacement of family unit members and expressed return intentions to the country of origin are used as the main categories for description. The analysis is based on both quantitative (National Immigrant Survey) and qualitative (in-depth interviews) empirical data.
