Abstract

Within the framework of the Programme Urbanism and City (Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism - University of Buenos Aires), this paper analyzes the growth and development dynamics in the Metropolitan Buenos Aires Region, besides doing a balance sheet of thought and action in the field of the development of the evolution and framing of the territorial and city planning strategies in the early 21st century. All that, in order to contrast both dynamics, inherent to the “urban resulting spatiality”, and assess the effectiveness of territorial and city planning policies in progress and the role of the urban paradigms (dominant, recessive, and emerging ones).
