Abstract

The urban agriculture inside Natal’s urban fabric is not hard to be identified. Nevertheless, when the municipal law’s is observed, can be noted that, even been known the practice of this intra-urban activity, the phenomenon is not considerate even had great importance for a hundred families in the peripheral areas. Thus, the most of people who are involved with this activity not have role or voice, in other words, they are not involved in management and planning municipal, occurring in this case, restrictions to democratization. This work views to analyze the importance of urban agriculture to increase small farming families’ income and to verify how this phenomenon has been considered by municipal public power in decisions taken in urban territory management inside Natal’s municipal sphere.
