Abstract

Observing and analyzing the geographic space as a totality allows verifying the coexistence of the metropolitan logic and the non-metropolitan. Both are related to the process of the capitalist accumulation linked both to concentration dynamics as well as the socio spatial dispersion. The objective of this text is to problematize the condition of life in the non-metropolitan areas, specially about provision of equipment and services, which requires to think in supralocal articulations. Both territorial configurations, marked by the constant trend to density as metropolitan areas, or by the depopulation as non-metropolitans, requires actually more complex forms of management. The non-metropolitan spaces, though in depopulation process, have a significant part of the society which requires to be served about her needs. The supramunicipal cooperations in this areas are exposed as possibilities considering not only the sum of resources, but also the sum of demands and the political representativeness.
