Abstract

In contemporary society the production of urban space have become the new center of accumulation and has the ability to provide survival capitalist relations. Therefore, the question of space emerges with great emphasis. The contribution of Lefebvre, with respect to space, is highlighted and preceded by the question: why Lefèbvre fascinated geographers? Special attention is given to the triad proposed by Lefebvre to the understanding of space in the modern society, where space is homogeneous, fragmented and hierarchical. Discusses also the networks seen as mediation, but also moments of production and producing a new space. Through them ensures continuity in discontinuity, unity in the fragmentation.
