Abstract

The present paper focuses on the analysis of the politics of heritage of the historic centre of Buenos Aires from an historic and socio-economic perspective. Attention will be put, on the one hand, to the different urban plans and projects concerning the heritage preservation of the urban centre and, on the other, to the social and economic changes as well as the urban renovation that they entailed. Finally, politics of heritage will be analyzed in relation to the multiple representations of the urban space and to the plurality and polyphony of social collective memories.
