Geographical frame in Sarmiento's utopies

Abstract

Domingo F. Sarmiento, born in Argentina in the XIX Century, was a writer, politician and educator who left a deep trace in the american ideals. His thoughts had an influence in the histori and lanscape of his time. The present paper shows the facets of his work,which are related to Geography, namely his early books Facundo, Argirópolis and Recuerdos de Provincia; and other late productions grouped under the suggestive title : Por el camino del Lacio.
