Abstract

Human migrations involve several and important alterations in political, social and cultural order of societies: social disorganization, problems of assimilation, personal demoralization, deviant behaviours, etc. But also, human migrations stimulate a creative cultural transfer. These papers explore, in a sociological view, some of the most interesting demonstrations in that cultural dynamic -particularly, the concept of "marginal man" or "social hybrid" at Robert E. Park's theory.
