Abstract

The present study is focused on the analysis of the socio-territorial structure of Buenos Aires, the larger Argentine urban region. The study will reflect the dramatic urban changes associated to changes in the global economy and, in general terms, to the "post-modernisation" of urban life and society. From a theoretical viewpoint, its final aim is to contribute to the analysis of the necessary inter-relations between spatial structures and social processes and the "trialectic" articulation between spatiality, sociality and temporality, in a case study involving a metropolis which belongs to "semi-peripheral" world spaces.
