Abstract

It is analyzed the genesis and the development of the National Society of Agriculture, in the Chile of the XIX century, putting attention especially to the efforts of this society to improve the conditions of the peasants' life and citizens in general of the time. And the thesis is based that it sustains that that entity, contributed significantly to the development of the national science, in the different ones even of the same one that you/they go from the acquisition of the knowledge, until the diffusion of the results obtain that the members of a society Chilean scientist.
