Abstract

Forced migration is one of the most forgotten migratory movements at the scope of science and academy. Even though this is not the Colombian’s case, a country with a prolonged armed conflict which has caused massive displacement of people; the attention to these people has been significant not only in academic area but also in scientific. At the same time a database has been gone consolidated through the Single Registry of Displaced Population that offer the chance to analyze the fact of internal displacement in both a recent period 2000-2007 and in municipal level, the places of displacement, and the socio-demographic characteristics such as ethnic composition, age, educational level and marital status of those displaced people. To the existence itself of this registry in Colombia are added the efforts of others agencies in quantify the volume of displaced people; enlarging in a general way the investigation field about this kind of migration.
