Abstract

Environmental Impact Assessment has become mandatory in many laws that are among the Urban Plans of municipalities. The consequences of a negative evaluation may be varied according to the law and according to the rigor with which it is applied, ranging from the permanent cessation of the project to its minimal impact. This process should not be a mere justification for the plans which have been mentioned, but an instrument of integration of environment into sectoral policies to ensure sustainable development more sustainable, fair and effective mechanism to tackle the great challenges of sustainability as is the prevention of natural risks.
