Abstract

This project reflects on the impact of new ideas about the post-productivity that is concerned in European agricultural policies in a scope of insular research, which has a predominant tertiary sector and a strong decline of the agriculture, the same that the Balearic Islands have. The implementations’ impact of the European Community rules on agricultural and rural issues are analyzed, deciphering the adjustment’s mechanisms and survival strategies adopted by the islander farmers in a tertiarized and post-industrialized environment. Due to that, it was necessary to obtain a sample of a wide range of the agricultural exploitations existing in the Islands and interview the owners in a partly-structuralized depth.
