The comments to new regulation from immigration in Spain

Abstract

The new Spanish legislation as to foreigner´s rights and freedoms, has substantially modified the previous legal text. One of the key points of this law is the garanting of equal rights and freedoms to both the immigrants citizens and the Spanish citizens. There is a distinction between legal and il.legal foreigners by which only the former is fully entitled to equality with respect to those born in Spain. The new law focuses on clarifying the nation of legal residence, increasing the administration´s power in connection with entry denial and ejection form Spain, restricting the right to family regrouping, limiting the right to free legal counselling, etc. In sum, even if it introduces some improvements, this law is intended to curtail the legal guarantees which, until its enactment immigrants had enjoyed in Spain. At this work we´ll try to treat all these aspects and we´ll detain specialy at analysis of new configuration of foreigner´s rights and freedoms.
