The return movement of the old emigrants to the province of Jaén

Abstract

The most important demographic phenomenon in the province of Jaén, in the second half of the XX century, has been the rural emigration. In the last years, the emigration has decreased considerably, verifying an important movement of return of old emigrants to their towns of origin, after to retire. Counting the number of people that they return, is the main objective of this communication, also analyse the most important characteristics of this collective (sex, age, civil state, educational level. …). Discovering the towns of Jaén where they arrive more returned, and study their origin, they are also questions that centre our interest.
