Abstract

In spite of the long migratory tradition of the peninsular towns, have been scarce the written testimonies that allow us to know which it was the trial that the emigration deserved previously from our jurists, sociologists and economists to the promulgation of the first laws for its regulation, starting from 1850. In this paper we examine a report written as answer to the government's questions and to clarify the causes of the emigration toward Algeria from the mediterranean costs of the Peninsula. The report have been elaborated by the Economic Society From Barcelona of Country's Friends in 1845.
