Abstract

In the last fews years, the high number of immigrant women among sex workers is resignifying the official discours and the opinion of medias concerning the feminine immigrant population. The restrictive immigration policies, as well as the non-recognition of prostitution as a working activity and the strong social stigma that goes with it, increases the vulnerability and the possibility of abuse against these women faced with the law, the circuits of people traffic, the clients and the society in general. The condemnation of both their sexual autonomy and economical independence are core factors to the perpetuation of these women's outlaw status.
