Abstract

At the end of XV century and beginnings of the next one, Europe suffered great convulsions since the discovery of a continent up to the schism of the principal net of ideological diffusion and configuration of mentalities: the Church. All of these were related with the appearance of one new way of development and the emergency of some social class that struggled for their shares of power. In these circumstances, obviously, it produced an intensive debate about some issues, and the labour was in the centre of that discourse. To analyse it, we are going to dedicate the next pages, by entering upon an double point of view: the relation that it establish between the idea of value and labour and, in the other hand, the disciplinary ability that is understood to the laboriousness. For that we are going to proceed in this way. First, we are going to present the groups that mediate in that debate: the scholastic and the political economists. Afterwards, we are going to enter upon the contribution of each of ones in this field.
