Abstract

As from the early 20th Century, agriculture has been developed in the area near Bahía Blanca, a city in the south-east of Argentina. At present, the activity has come to a halt due to different factors which mean, on the one hand, gradual loss of lands, and on the other, a decrease in the producers’ standard of living, process that has become worse in the last few months. The main goal of this research is to analize, in the globalization context, the degree of stillness affecting the agricultural area taking into consideration different parametres, so as to find situations that help bring some life to the activity in this current context. Within our goals, it is worth mentioning themaking of a producers’ and farms’ data base through detailed research and surveys, due to the lack of this kind of information. As regards this, they have been asked about their family history, farms, origin, labour, tools and machines, social networks, trading and advice they get when working. The research and study are done through typological analysis.
