Abstract

The contemporary architecture is characterized by a prevalence of the sense of the vision in its perception, what has produced an impoverishment in the perception of the urban spaces. The contemporary art, on the other hand, offers a perception multisensorial of the space, promoted by the emergence of the gender of the "installation" like medium of artistic expression. In this communication we will outline such questions as the living of the urban space beyond the pure visual, and taking as example the French artist's work Louise Bourgeois will outline how the form of the housing responds to some symbolic characteristics determined by cultural, perceptive aspects and of the inhabitant's personal characteristics. Lastly we will conclude with some reflections by way of conclusion.
