Abstract

Immigration in the city of Barcelona has grown up quickly in the last years, to the point that one of each ten inhabitants in the city comes from another country. Among the largest immigrants collectives, the Pakistani case stands out, given that it has become the fifth in size with some 10.000 people. The lack of strong cultural, economical and social links between Pakistan and Spain, and Barcelona concretely, makes very interesting the study of this collective. By analysing the main demographic and social characteristics of this group it is pretended to find out where and how Pakistani people live, and at the same time, understand which problems they face to find a place to live in Barcelona.
