Abstract

The central issue that orientated this report consists of investigating the relation between the production of housing complex in the small towns in the region of Catanduva (São Paulo State, Brazil) and its occupation by expressive part of employees who work on the alcohol-sugar agriculture-industries. From this perspective, we analyze what are, indeed, the roles of the small towns of this cane region. Those considerations show us the way in which the Government organize the housing politics and the interest considered on the resources distribution among towns, involving the reflection between the production and the appropriation of urban space. Effectively, the access to the financed housing with public resources, represented to the citizens or if the interest was a constitution of "nursery of workforce" to the agriculture-industry of the region.
