Abstract

This work tries analyse the sociospacial dynamics of the Garanhuns Municipality in the regional context and articulation between nets of different scales and densities, trying to understand their role in the present spacial organization of the Agreste Mesoregion of Pernambuco. To achieve the general aim we tried, inside a larger research titled: Study about average sized cities in the Pernambuco State. Identifying the elements meaningful to the definition of a urban stadual hierarquization system. We situate this work as one more effout to stablish a diagnostic that fundaments an interpretation of the main nuances of development and vectors of performances and transformations in Garanhuns. To its obtainment, iconographic and bibliographic documents were researched, data was consulted and collated at IBGE, as well as official socioeconomic state information. Visits were made to official organs and institutions, complementting the primary information collected through field visits to the municipality in question.
