Spanish and Latinamerican Scientific e-journals Platform

Abstract

The Open Access movement, whose final goal is to facilitate free access to the contents of scientific e-journals, is giving rise to a number of initiatives around the world. Among these initiatives can be found the creation of an electronic platform for the first time in Spain within the Portal Tecnociencia. In this platform, those Spanish and Latin-American e-journals that already exist or have been recently created, and that meet strict quality requirements will be gathered, selected and hosted. Access to these journals will be free of charge, without lessening the quality principles that must prevail in the publications included in the project. The platform will also include other added value resources related to electronic publishing, and a restricted area for all those publishers wishing to participate in this initiative.
