Abstract

On the basis of study of new great projects residential fence of periphery north of area metropolitan of Santiago of Chile, analyzes way in which these interventions form a new image of the urban expansion, that organizes on the basis of the layout of urban freeways and commercial centers of great surfaces, malls. With these elements some hypotheses settle down that affirm that this physical configuration of the large city would be leading to a concept of distant city of the social and functional diversity.
