The street in the social imaginary

Abstract

The importance of analyzing the spaciality of street is in the fact that we can identify the dimension of daily life present in its forms, since it represents the spaciality of social relations. To some people the street is simply scenery, while others see in the street more than itinerary. To us, the street reveals itself as stage of continuous events, in constant movement. Thus social life shows up in it. The street reveals to us forms of appropriations and temporalities, for it carries in itself this vivacity.
