Guidelines for the analysis of digital segregation
Abstract
The digital segregation resulting from the emergence of information and communication digital technologies (TDIC) requires the establishment of guidelines for analysis. We present here a proposal for the analysis of digital segregation from the perspective of productive activities. It begins with the illustration of the central features of the extractive and agricultural computerized production, to continue with the high-tech industry, then emphasizes in services and electronic commerce. Later analyses the implications for education and digital literacy, and for technological innovation and knowledge production. Ends with an approach to the role of public, private and dissident discourse, that are especially important catalysts of the digital segregation.Downloads
