An overview of the magazine Indice Histórico Español since its creation in 1953 by the well-known historian Dr. Jaume Vicens Vives. The article explains the objectives pursued with his historiographical approaches based on the presentation of a brief bibliography on the history of Spain and works of great repercussion are observed. Some innovative objectives at the time that were altered in their form and approach with the introduction of new technologies. Some aspects linked to these changes are highlighted, as well as the work carried out by some collaborators that have allowed the magazine to be maintained up to the present.
