Discovering the city through Pokémon

This article focuses on the problem of the learning of geographical space by primary school students. The innovation proposal aims to improve the learning of geographical space through the use of playful technological tools in the urban space of the city of Alicante. The research questions are: Does the use of digital tools such as Google Earth and Pokémon Go help overcome the problems students have in geographic space? and Does the urban space of a city contribute to the learning of geographic space? The learning situation focuses on five categories of geographical space: orientation, distribution, location, spatial relationships and decentralization. Through the educational use of digital tools such as the game Pokémon Go and Google Earth, students learn this educational content of the social sciences in a playful way. The urban space of Alicante and the use of technologies make it possible to overcome the problems of geographical space that students have.
