The issue concerning the present development of labour conditions is directly related to the conditions of the ongoing crisis but also to wage and employment regulations. This paper focuses on the genealogy of the current Spanish wage standards for employment. The different historical formative, transformational and crisis periods are reviewed, including the final period known as “flexibilization”, which, as will be argued, represents the introduction of a new social order, different to the wage era, that as such belongs to the neoliberal (counter) revolution that we are witnessing in the last three decades.Downloads
