Prominencias de la frecuencia fundamental en sílabas átonas contiguas
Keywords:
F0, fundamental frequency, stress, unstressed syllablesAbstract
This study tried to establish whether speakers tend to produce f0 peaks when confronted to unstressed syllables sequences. A protocol was designed in which participants had to utter different sequences having from one to 7 unstressed syllables before the final stress. The results soundly show that when confronted with sequences having more than 4 unstressed syllables before the final stress, speakers tend to produce at least one f0 peak. The f0 peaks detected are also described in terms of tonal differences between valleys and peaks, time lapse from peak to the beginning of the stressed syllable and the temporal and frequency distance between the peaks.
