Abstract

This essay aims to explore the formation of the collective memory of the Spanish Civil War through cinematographic representation. The importance held in the reconstruction of the memory of the war reaches beyond its psychological benefit as a therapy to cope with past events. Nonetheless, the cinematographic medium serves as a propaganda tool to assimilate political messages into society.
