Abstract

During the last few years a new field of study has been named in Argentina as Cinema Studies, defined by plural epistemological and methodological perspectives. Although historiography is still the hegemonic line, in this field it have begun to produce a dialogue with contemporary philosophy (Deleuze, Badiou, Rancière), which has its beginnings in the legacy of Critical Theory (Benjamin, Adorno, Kracauer) and the Third World position from the writings of political cinema (Fanon). This article explores some of the archaeological dimensions of the Cinema Studies in Argentina, including a critical perspective on one of the texts that have been out of the corpus and archive of historiography: Historia y filosofía del cine (Teo De Leon Margaritt, 1947)
