ALEMANIA EN OTOÑO. LA IMPOTENCIA COMO ALTERNATIVA

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the film Germany in Autumn. Firstly, we are going to explain the historical origins of the New German Cinema and the ideology of the second generation of the Red Army Faction (RAF). Secondly, and through this essay, we pose the following hypothesis: Germany in Autumn, due to the difficulties to show the social antagonism, and as RAF has previously done, wanted to show how the only alternative for the German new left was the development of free spaces to create a new and non-capitalist society. In other words, the film could be described as loyal reproducer of the ideology of the second generation of the RAF.
