In the 1990s, not only the Soviet past was questioned, but also those silenced episodes were recovered, like the end of Tsar Nicholas ll and his family. This article studies the national imaginary of the last Romanovs through this cultural product: cinema. The analysis of two films, one produced at the beginning of the nineties and the another one at the end, will allow us to know the nuances in the treatment of the end of The Russian Imperial Family.
