The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (1979-1989) was one of the best-known conflicts of the final phase of the Cold War. Likewise, the propaganda machine of the Hollywood cinema dealt with this war through films clearly anti-communist propaganda (Rambo III, Red Scorpion), neutral (Charlie Wilson's War) or focused on the chaos of the refugees and the effects of the war. (The Beast of War). But, little was studied about the theme from the other perspective, the one that was developed from the sphere of the Kremlin. This text will try to shed light on some films that, more than three decades after the Soviet retreat, have not yet crossed the border of the old "Iron Curtain".
